I want to send a heart felt THANK YOU to Vinny Forras and his awesome son, Michael for mentioning my cousin Ryan Cantafio on FOX-News Thanksgiving Day afternoon. And huge hug goes to FOX host; Neil Cavuto for making time to honor Vinny, Michael, the two other troops on the panel and a fallen warrior.
To Neil, I know at times you are under pressure to deliver hard hitting stories, and to keep up with a fast paced world. We understand that it isn't always possible to remember a fallen solider who passed away two years ago. What you did for our family will never be forgotten. Not only was Ryan mentioned on the 2nd anniversary of his death, but you showed his photo. God bless you Neil!
If you saw the interview, you heard young Marine, Michael Forras tell the story that when he returned to his base in California, he was spat upon by a US citizen!!!!!!!! That floored me. When I spoke with Vinny last night to thank him for his role in honoring Ryan, I asked him what happened in California when Michael returned?Apparently a "war-protester" thought it was smart idea to disrespect American troops and welcome them home after a year of fighting terrorism, by sporting their own brand of terrorism and spitting in the face of these troops as they re-enter the USA. This is the same kind of sick, disrespect some of our Vietnam Vet's were shown after serving their country. The big difference is that American citizens won't put up with that crap any longer. What you didn't hear on TV last night is that about 4 former Marines witnessed the disrespectful spitting and beat the living-crap out of the "spitter." Michael told his father that because he was in uniform he could not retaliate, and wanted to strip off his Marine uniform and join in the fun, but the veteran Marines had everything well under control, ... in fact, ... the spitter lips were so swollen that he probably won't and can't do any spitting for a while and probably had to eat his turkey from a straw!
When the San Diego-area Police arrived (former Marines also, yikes!) and found out what had happened and why, ... well, let just say they believed justice had been served. I guess two black eyes, a broken nose and a broken jaw saved the great American taxpayers all sorts of money! God bless America.
To all you other idiots out there who think disrespecting our American troops is a smart thing to do, start practicing saying things like "hurry, ... more morphine," and "... my insurance card is in my wallet, ... I'd get it for you myself but my arm is broken." This is NOT Vietnam! Those assholes who disrespected the Vietnam Vet's taught America a lesson. We will not tolerate your ignorant treatment of OUR soldiers!
It sounds like the Patriot Guard may be called in for more action. If you haven't heard of this fine group of American patriots, keep disrespecting our troops and you'll meet them up close and personal. A lot of them are those same Vietnam Vet's who were spat upon and would just love a little "payback."
God bless our great American troops, remember a lot of them ate their turkey dinner in the desert, under fire, last night while we all slept in our warm beds.
The spitter was in a warm bed last night too, ... hopefully with an I.V. in his arm!
