CommentaryThis entry was posted on March 14, 2007 10:50 AM and is filed under Life. As I have stated on this blog (I still hate that word "blog") before, everything I say or comment on is my humble opinion. I say what I feel and I speak from my heart. I'm about to turn 52-years old and at this point in my life, I could care less what anyone thinks of me or my opinions. The great thing about not agreeing in America is that life goes on. We don't behead or torture anyone because they disagree with our views.
With that being said, ... here I go! GAYS IN THE MILITARY I'm sure by now you've all seen where the head of the Joint Chiefs, General Pace, thinks homosexuality is immoral. My thought on that is, General Pace is entitled to his opinion, ... but being in a leadership position, he might have wanted to keep that opinion to himself. I personally don't have a problem with any American picking up a weapon to defend freedom. Being in show business I have known a lot of gay and lesbian Americans and for the most part, they have had a very positive impact on my life. I have spoken to a few of the troops about this subject and I received the answers I expected. Most of them said something like this; ... "If a homosexual wants to fight terrorism, they are welcome to stand right beside me. I could care less what their sexual preference is!" Amen! GAS PRICE HIKE! What the hell is with the American Fuel Industry? When we get great news about new oil reserves being discovered on a USA territory, ... and prices are expected to come waaaaaaaaay down, ... they are lowered by penny's a week. But if some Saudi Oil King stops the production of oil because they are pumping too much oil into their reserves, (because they aren't selling as much as they hoped) ... prices rise .10 to .20 cents in a day or two. They rise in a nanosecond on bad news and trickle down after good news. What happen to our newly discovered oil? I just hate playing this stupid game time and again. Whenever I ask anyone in the oil business, "what gives?" ... they point the finger at someone else. Well, I am point my finger, (my middle finger,) at the oil companies. I pray that we all go "Green" very soon, ... electric, vegetable, horse drawn carts, ...whatever. I can't wait for that day, ... then you'll see gas at about .25 cents a gallon. Brazil did it, ... and they are much larger than the USA. MUD-SLINGING It's already starting. Democrat's and Republican's, washing their dirty laundry in public. I hate this part of America. It really turns me off, and now I turn it off. I don't want to hear it or read it. It's gonna get worse as we get closer to the election. Do you remember after the September 11th attacks? Do you remember when the Democrat's and Republican's stood side by side, hand in hand and sang "God Bless America" on the steps of the Capitol in Washington D.C? I was never prouder to be an American. We were united, ... one nation under God, indivisible, ... and now look at us. Back to the same old crap! How in hell do you think our troops feel when they see our elected leaders acting like spoiled brats on a playground? How do you think a parent or spouse who has lost a loved one on the battle field feels when they see this regurgitated shit, day after day, night after night in the news? Is this what those heroes died for? When are our politicians going to wise up and stop the mud-slinging. Please tell us what your plans are, tell us what you are going to do to make America a better place and not what you think we all want to hear. Be honest with us and stop dishing the dirt on your opponent. (Am I just dreaming here?) SGT. DARRIN DOMKO, US ARMY I want to wish Darrin Domko the best of luck as he prepares for Special Forces Services. A lot of us have complete faith in you brother, ... keep making us proud. SGT. MICHAEL FORRAS, USMC Congratulation to Michael Forras, ... proud son of Ground Zero firefighter Vincent Forras. Michael just graduated from the Marine Embassy Guard School and will soon be assigned to guard a US Embassy overseas. Michael returned from duty in Iraq last fall and is continuing his military career. SIDEBAR; Colonel Dennis Arinello will be making sure Michael gets his college "sheep-skin" while in the Marine Corp, ... even if Michael has to take computer classes. (I just received that message last night! It pays to be pushed by friends in high places! LOL) |
