Gas Prices, The Chicago Rush, The Troops and StuffThis entry was posted on May 1, 2007 3:50 PM and is filed under the troops, Life. What the %$&$#! Gas prices are out of control!!!! America's short memory is getting shorter. Wasn't it just a few months ago that huge deposits of crude oil were discovered in the Gulf of Mexico in US territory? Weren't gas prices supposed to be at $1.50 by last Christmas and dropping? Didn't experts say that if America used oil at the same rate we are using it today, that we would have over 200-years of oil from this discovery? And now gas prices are on their way to $4.00 per gallon!!!!! What the %$%#@&!!!! Why do we put up with this? Please write into this blog if you have any suggestion on how to jointly boycott this recent hike in gas prices. Way back in the 70's, the country of Brazil decided to take a stand for the people and not for the oil companies and they have not used or imported oil for over 30 years! We are supposed to be the greatest country in the world, ... I believe that with my heart. I know we have the technology to do anything any other country can do, so PLEASE Washington, ... stop spoon-feeding the corporate world and throw a fish or two the hard working VOTING American people! Chicago Rush Arena Football The World Champion Chicago Rush of the AFL, took their six game winning streak to the Allstate Arena last night and faced Jon Bon Jovi's Philadelphia Soul. The Rush were losing 43-41 with less than four-minutes to go in the game when they made another patented late surge and won the game 54-43, their seventh win in a row. Do I watch arena football every night? No, ... I have no idea what channel it's normally on. Do I know any players? My bad again, ... I sure don't. What I loved about watching the end of the game (it was on ESPN-2 last night and I caught it as I was flipping,) is the fact that one of my music partners on the Bear Fight Songs CD, Bill Archer, the music coordinator for Mike Ditka's Chicago Rush, made me laugh my ass off. As soon as the game was in the bag for the Rush, Archer played Bon Jovi's "Have A Nice Day!" ... "And the crowd went wild everybody!" I will say that Arena Football was a blast to watch, ... it's a very fast game. Archer, ... you are priceless! It's A Small World After All I have gotten two very surprising and touching email from parents of Marines in Iraq. It turns out that Eric Jazak, USMC is working on the same base as these Marines and that point was discovered when the Marines parents read my last blog titled "Letters From The Frontlines." The young Marines work on Eric's flightline and our hero-Eric promises that he will watch over the Marines and he also promises that they will call and write home in a timely fashion. OOoooo Rahhhhh Eric! Everything Is Normal My Neighborhood There has been a lot written about Global Warming and the fact that there are a surprisingly low amount of bee's for the past few years. I agree, if there is anything man can do to stop the melting of the polar ice caps, we need to do it. I am sure bee's are a very important part of the Eco System also. I am still not convinced it is mankind causing the warm-up, (that's another entire conversation) but last winter was freezing-ass-cold in Chicago! Today a bee flew into my face and stung my lip, ... so maybe it's just me, but we have the cold and bee's in my neighborhood. CommentsDisplay comments as (Linear | Threaded)
