Every once in while I will receive a "comment" for a story that I have written that is so good and informative that it has to be posted as it's own story.

My friend Lisa, who works with the Yellow Ribbon Support Group, (visit their website on the links page of this website- www.JoeCantafio.com ) sent me the below email. Lisa 'get's it" like so many of you do.

Below is her take on Peter Roskam. I'm glad to see other feel the same way about Peter and his service to our great nation. Sometimes I am so close that I assume everyone knows about Peter's commitment and actions.

Lisa writes:

Dear Joe

I agree with you about Peter Roskam's character! Not only that but he is a responsive legislator. Back in February after the House debate and vote on war funding, I wrote to the Congressman expressing my gratitude for his stand. In March I received a letter sharing his perspective on the war. Then in April, I received another unsolicited correspondence which included a copy of a letter from General Petraeus to all the U.S. forces serving in Iraq. The General explained his own perspective in that letter along with the important goals our troops are accomplishing.

Also, in March Congressman Roskam was so concerned with what he heard about the conditions at Walter Reed Army Medical Center that he went with other congressional leaders to check it out for himself. (see his statement and video via this link
http://roskam.house.gov/News/DocumentSingle.aspx?DocumentID=63457) There is no doubt he supports our troops in word and deed.

This is the kind of initiative we need from our Congressman and Senators.

Oh, did I mention that I don't even live in Roskam's district??
