Below is part of an article from the news agency I subscribe to;

ATLANTA (May 22) Speaking on NBC's "Today," Carter appeared to retreat from a statement he made to the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette for a Saturday story in which he said: "I think as far as the adverse impact on the nation around the world, this administration has been the worst in history."

Former President Carter said Monday his remarks were "careless or misinterpreted" when he said the Bush administration has been the "worst in history" for its impact around the world.

Frank Fellone, deputy editor at the Democrat-Gazette, said Monday that the newspaper's story was "accurate and also contextual."

"If President Carter's remarks are careless or misinterpreted, they are not misinterpreted by us," he said.

The White House on Saturday had dismissed Carter after the remarks as "increasingly irrelevant."

In response, Carter, the 2002 Nobel Peace Prize winner, said: "Well, I don't claim to have any relevancy. I have a completely unofficial capacity. The only thing I lead is the Carter Center."

After the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette story appeared, Carter spokeswoman Deanna Congileo had confirmed his comments to The Associated Press.

It's amazing that Jimmy Carter's mean-spirited remarks are NOW "careless or misinterpreted!"

If in fact Carter claims that "I don't claim to have any relevancy. I have a completely unofficial capacity. The only thing I lead is the Carter Center," why does he always have a negative comment about Bush and why does he stay involved in "world matters," and why does he make sure his "irrelevant" opinion is heard?

My feeling is that President Carter still carries "lust in his heart," ... not for the girls in Playboy Magazine, ... the lust is for bringing down President George W. Bush.

It appears this time, Carter has waaaaaaaaaaaay over stepped his "unofficial capacity."

Carter contributed NOTHING to America in his one-term in office. He wrecked the economy, and he lowered American standards, pride, respect, and grit. Bush has contributed miles.

I had felt that Jimmy Carter was one of our most honest Presidents, but now I am retreating from that thought. I honestly believe his words have new meaning.

EXAMPLE: (Below are Carters chosen words in bold type and next to them are what he really must mean.)

"Careless" = I lied and I didn't think I would be caught.

"Misinterpreted" = Damn it, I got caught.

"Unofficial Capacity" = I will keep sticking my big nose in places it doesn't belong around the world because I want to clear my name as the worst president in USA history!

"I don't claim to have any relevancy" = I am back-peddling my ass off right now!

"This Administration has been the worst in history." = I hope I can convince people that the Bush  Administration has been the worst in history and not mine!

"I have lusted in my heart" = Yea, ... I admit it, ... I wanted to do her bad!

To Jimmy Carter; Please go to your Carter Center and stand in the corner you bad boy. From this point in history, your comments about President Bush, or any other US President will be consider a self-serving joke!

      Jimmy Carter stirred up controversy not so long ago when his book about the Middle East "Peace Not Apartheid" was released. The book contained facts that were distorted, untrue and outright ommitted. A longtime aide came out against him and 14 members of the Carter Center advisory board resigned. It's no surprise that his input is being considered increasingly "irrelevant

      Bravo Lisa, ... again you make a great contribution.

      I do remember when "Peace Not Apartheid" came out. Carter was on every talk show and morning program. He was treated as if he were Abe Lincoln himself. I laughed and scratched my head at that time, thinking, ... " Come On! ... this guy was just an awful leader and now he's writing a 'how to' book ?"

      I was in shock and then I believe it was a week or so later, and I believe it was on Meet The Press when his " untruths " were revealed. I didn't know about his staff bailing on him, ... but it all makes sense now.

      What a nut he is, ... (no pun intended)

      Joe
