A letter to me from Dana Palmer, mother of fallen hero Cory Palmer, USMC.

Dana writes;

Please spread the word to service groups, schools and church groups, and any willing soul; to help our Troops with a special request.

The 6th Regimen Marines, out of Camp LeJeune, has been in Iraq for 7-months. They now have 6 or 7-months left to serve with a possible extension. They are in desperate need of PROTEIN and BEVERAGES. The Marines DO NOT want sweets. They want protein and liquids.

Please contact everyone who might take on this opportunity to serve our troops. The request includes; protein bars, protein shake mix and protein pills that can be obtained at a Health Food Store or a Pharmacy. Even Walmart has them.

Canned goods with protein and carbs, like Spaghettios, ravioli, chunky soups with meat, Vienna sausages, ... almost anything you can think of that is substantial for a meal. It's nice to get the ones that have a self-opening seal, but they can use regular cans as well. Be sure NOT to send dented cans or outdated items. Dented cans sometimes have broken liners or seals.

BEVERAGES - Gatorade and drinks that replace salts and electrolytes are desperately needed as well. Bottled water is good, along with serving powders like Crystal Lite and other brands.

Daytime temps are currently close to 150 degrees. They cannot stay hydrated when they are not near a PX.

Please pass this information on and enjoy the opportunity to help our men and women serving overseas.

I have two names in the 6th Regimen to whom you may send items. They will share with other Marines in the Regimen.

LCPL Gerardo Gonzales, USMC
RTC 6
Unit 73805
FPO AE

LCPL Josh Lemieux, USMC

Thank You,

Dana Palmer,
Proud mother of fallen hero, Cory Palmer, USMC.

Joe and Dana, I will pass this throughout my email addresses. Everyone reading this, please do so as well. The small cost of a care package can mean so much to these brave warriors.

Dana, I will put one together shortly. Thank you for the information.

God Bless your brave son Cory, he will never be forgotten.

      Semper Fi,
      Ryan Jazak
