As the war on two fronts continues, many Americans seem to be stepping up to help and support our troops. Over the past few years, in spite of what our media tells us, I have seen more American's finally say, "I am not going to sit around any longer with my mouth shut and secretly support our troops. Life is too short, and if we don't support our troops, ... life will be shorter for all of us."

From the Yellows Ribbon Support Group and Soldiers Angels to We Do Care, Forgotten Heroes and Fisher House, Americans are doing remarkable things to participate in our freedom for the people who keep us free.

I had the opportunity to meet with Diana Quinn. Diana and a group of her friends have begun the "ConnectVETS Foundation," an organization that help veterans find a job after serving our country.

In addition, ConnectVETS Foundation was established to show thanks and support for the men and women who have served our country.

Diana said their mission is to connect veterans to employment opportunities in the private sector through mentoring programs with current and retired business professionals.

They will help veterans develop the right skills and help them make a connection with employers. They will also reach out to private sector employers and educate them to the benefits of embracing and transferring military skills, training and education of civilian job requirements.

Their first fund raiser will be held in the Waukegan area on Saturday, October 27, 2007. I plan to be there, speaking and entertaining along with other entertainers and speakers. I will keep all readers informed on the exact time, place and ticket donation for the event.

Their website is www.ConnectVETS.org  If you, or anyone you know, need help in this area, OR if you are an employer or know an employer who can help, email Diana Quinn directly at quinnqhrs@sbcglobal.net".

FYI; Diana are her husband are "Navy Brats" from a long line of sailors, and her brother-in-law" is an Admiral, currently serving in the Persian Gulf.
