Heroes Step UpThis entry was posted on October 24, 2007 3:05 PM and is filed under Heroes. As I watch my television, I cannot imagine what it's like to be a firefighter when the entire city and state, for that matter, is burning all around you. It's like Dante's Hell. So far, over one-thousand of homes have been lost in California with costs reaching up over one-billion dollars. God bless our firefighters. Thank you for all that you do for us. I was just chatting with my friend, Ryan Jazak. He told me he was speaking with his brother, Eric Jazak, USMC, who returned from his second tour on Iraq in July. Eric is now based at Camp Pendelton. Camp Pendelton Marines have given their base to the hundreds of thousands who have been evacuated from their homes in southern California, ... and now, Camp Pendelton is being evacuated. Dryness, combined with fire and wind gusts between 50 and 70 miles per hour make a devastating killer. I am amazed, that with the whole southern coast of California on fire that only 2 people have died so far. Please keep our soldiers and Marines, firefighter, police officers, emergency personal and our brothers and sisters in the "Eureka State" in your thoughts and prayers. Pray for rain. |
