Wake Up Freeloaders! This entry was posted on November 12, 2007 10:25 AM and is filed under the troops. I was shopping on Saturday afternoon and as I came out of the grocery story I saw the banner of a low flying-single-engine plane that read; "Stop The War." It hit me, ... this banner was being flown on the Marine's 232nd birthday, the day before Veterans Day. How did this banner honor either the Marines or our great Veterans? Instead of a banner that read, "Support The Troops," or "Win The War," or "Thank You Troops," or "God Bless Our Veterans," some "asshole" decided to make a statement, that quite honestly, got a few boos in the parking lot. If I had the means, I bet I could have organized a small squad and taken that "banner-flying pussy" out with a S.A.M. (Surface to Air Missile.) I might have understood the message if this had been flying around election time, but not Veterans Day? It was a sad and disrespectful attempt at sensationalism, ... and it failed in my book. It didn't make me stop and think, ... it pissed me off. I honestly think people have been side tracked. All this made-up crap about President Bush actually bombing the World Trade Center, The Pentagon and trying to bomb the White House, is so humorous to me, in the same way that there are nutz who believe in their hearts that Elvis is still alive, and man has never stepped foot on the moon ... (it was all filmed in a Hollywood studio.) Some Americans are so quick to blame themselves and cannot believe that an Islamic Extremist and his band of whack-jobs would actually attack America using our own resources, even though they said they were going to do it after attacking our interests here and overseas for years. In fact, ... on a monthly basis, they broadcast from an undisclosed cave/studio that they will continue to kill Americans and the American way of life until it no longer exisits. On February 1, 2007, US Army Infantryman; Sgt. Eddie Jeffers wrote the following words while he was serving America in Ramadi, Iraq; ... Terrorists cut the heads off of American citizens on the Internet ... and there is no outrage, but an American soldier kills an Iraqi in the midst of battle, and there are investigations, and sometimes soldiers are even jailed...for doing their job. It is absolutely sickening to me to think our country has come to this. Why are we so obsessed with the bad news? Why will people stop at nothing to be against this war, no matter how much evidence of the good we've done is thrown in their face? When is the last time CNN or MSNBC or CBS reported the opening of schools and hospitals in Iraq? Or the leaders of terror cells being detained or killed? It's all happening, but people will not let up their hatred of President Bush. They will ignore the good news, because it just might show people that Bush was right. America has lost its will to fight. It has lost its will to defend what is right and just in the world. The crazy thing of it all is that the American people have not even been asked to sacrifice a single thing. It's not like World War II, where people rationed food and gas, and turned in cars to be made into metal for tanks. The American people have not been asked to sacrifice anything! Unless you are in the military or the family member of a service-member, its life as usual ... the war doesn't affect you. But it affects us. And when it is over and the troops come home and they try to piece together what's left of them after their service ... where will the detractors be then? Where will the Cindy Sheehan's be to comfort and talk to soldiers and help them sort out the last couple years of their lives, most of which have been spent dodging death and wading through the deaths of their friends? They will be where they always are, somewhere far away, where the horrors of the world can't touch them. Somewhere where they can complain about things they will never experience in their lifetime; things that the young men and women of America have willingly taken upon their shoulders. Sergeant Eddie Jeffers is a US Army Infantryman serving in Ramadi, Iraq. Sgt Eddie Jeffers was killed in Ramadi, Iraq on September 19th, 2007. I thank God every night for men and women like Sgt. Jeffers; Americans who "get it!" Brave warriors who stepped up and have actually DONE SOMETHING and not just pointed fingers and spouted off! People who have seen it, smelled it, touched it and understand it, ... this is not going away folks. It's very simple to these brave Americans ... we send the troops home, we fight a war here on the streets of Chicago, L.A., Texas, Wisconsin and again in New York, Washington D.C. and Pennsylvania. To the family of Sgt. Eddie Jeffers, ... "thank you" is not enough. I know I'll never be able to repay you for the gift you gave to America, ... your son/brother. To families of our great veterans, ... "thank you" is not enough. I enjoy my freedoms because of you. I promise I will never forget that fact. To the pilot of the plane and his supporters who send "anti-troop support" messages, and who waste their money on stupid messages when they could be sending at least 100 troops a care package, ... Wake Up Freeloaders! |
