Most of you know of the Patriot Guard Riders. Most of you know they comfort Gold Star families and protect and honor those families at the funerals of America's sons and daughters. One of the most important role they play is to keep any disrespectful, anit-American's out of "shouting distance" from the mourning families.

They have done a tremendous job and have comforted and protected many families throughout the USA.

Today is only their 2nd Anniversary and I am asking you to read the short letter send to me by Kim Busch.

Through The Eyes Of A Patriot Guard Rider

                These Eyes - Our Eyes

These eyes, our eyes have looked into the Eyes if a Parent, who had recently lost a son or daughter in "The War on Terrorism." In their eyes, Those Eyes we have seen the present and the past! In Those Eyes we have seen despair, regret, sorrow, tears, confusion, hate, sadness, mistrust! But in the same eyes Those Eyes, we have seen love, faith, joy, hope, laughter, more love and most of all, pride and honor in their son or daughter, who gave their life knowing that they were on the right side, the side that provides the freedom that we enjoy here in this great country each day.

These Eyes, our eyes have looked into the Eyes of a Wife or Husband whose loved one paid the ultimate price fighting "The War on Terrorism." In Those Eyes we have also seen the same despair, regret, sorrow, tears, confusion, hate, sadness and mistrust. But in the same eyes Those Eyes, we have also seen love, faith, joy, hope, laughter, more love, understanding and again most of all pride and honor knowing that their loved one was doing what He or She wanted to do and who He or She believed what they were doing was right for all of Us.

But, These Eyes, our eyes - have also looked into each other's eyes, Those Eyes, the eyes of our fellow Patriot Guard Riders. In these eyes, Our Eyes, we have seen tears, compassion, regret, sympathy, but we have also found a sense of, once again, belonging to a group of camaraderie, loyalty, love and caring for each other, of hope and respect; and new found friendships with each other. We have seen friendships grow with members of the families of the Fallen, who know that we care and that we're there for them anytime, any place for whatever reason. These eyes, Our Eyes, The Eyes of a Patriot Guard Rider have seen more in the past two-years than most people see in a life time ... but then, we wouldn't have i any other way!

With love and respect for All, I remain,

Jim (Dinky Dau) Lorenzo
Permanent Ride Captain, Alabama
