WASHINGTON DC : Top Democratic leader John Murtha said today that the "troop surge is indeed working" and "there is progress in Iraq," ... he warned that the Iraqi's must continue to step up.

Nancy Pelosi offered no comment, ... Harry Reid is no where to be found.

This blogs readers had that same information months ago from Marine Gunny Eric Jazak. Eric's assessment back in July was that the surge was working and that the Iraqi's were stepping up. Eric also said that the Iraqi's had to continue to step up and eventually take over.

After Murtha's comments, and Pelosi's non-comment you have to think that the Democrat's that have made their platform "The Iraq War Is Lost and a Waste of Time," are in back rooms all over Washington DC in a state of panic!

I can hear them now! "Oh my God, Bush was right! We were wrong! And now Bush is working on a Middle-East Peace agreement, ala-Jimmy Carter, with Israel and Palestine ... what do we do now?"

Do all those anti-George W. Bush Americans have the guts to admit Bush was correct? Can they see that the decision that the President made; insisting we back the troops, get them more troops and more money and win this war, was correct?

I won't be surprised if the Democrats lose the House and Senate (they are barely hanging on) in November because they have seemed to back the wrong choices, ... they made a lot of noise going in, but to date, they have not done ONE THING!

I won't be surprised if President Bush goes down in history as one of our best presidents. Yea, yea, ... I can hear some of you laughing, but I'm not talking about today or next year, I'm talking about 5 - 10 - 100 years from now. His popularity and his list of accomplishments are right in line with Lincoln, FDR, T. Roosevelt, Truman and Washington, ... all who suffered some very low popularity poll numbers during their presidency, ... and all who changed American history for the better.

I hope Eric Jazak, and people just like him, run for US congress and state and US senate. America needs more, clear thinking Americans without an agenda. America need some patriots and people who understand the troops, what they are going through and what it's like to really serve our country. The great thing about John Murtha is that he is a veteran, and he couldn't sell out the troops once he saw for himself what they have accomplished in Iraq.

God bless our troops, God bless America.

Progress in Iraq has been ongoing since the first bomb fell on that country. And on April 9th 2003, Saddam Insanes rule by the iron fist came to a crashing end. People seem to forget that this man brutally murdered and tortured his own people to instill fear of uprising against him. With all of the political bickering and a President in the mid 90's who failed to live up to his oath in office to protect the American people, Saddam continued to pursue WMD's and defy weapons inspections who were keeping tabs on him. And if anyone thinks that Saddam didn't have WMD's and got the out to Syria before we invaded, then one needs to have their head examined.

Iraq will be the base of peaceful Middle East someday. That day will not be tomorrow, and it may not be in my lifetime. These people have been fighting for thousands of years. Peace cannot be accomplished without the preparation for war. That is not only fact, it is reality. If freedom wasn't costly, everyone would have it. We didn't get to keep this ground that we are on by backing down, and the people of Iraq won't get to keep theirs if we back down. American and Iraqi casualties are down dramatically. The people in Iraq and the ones who stand up to defend her, are sick and tired of radical extremists destroying their country. They are standing up and fighting, and Al Queda is running out of places to hide. 3000+ of our brave men and women, and countless Iraqi fighters have given their lives so others can taste the gift of freedom. We, as a nation owe it to them to finish the job. And then, and only then, bring our brave warriors home and thank them for a job well done. We must not let men like Ryan Cantafio USMC, Phillip Frank USMC, and Derek Argel die in vain for a cause that so many have made the ultimate sacrifice for. Last I know, my brother has been to 21 of his fallen comrades funerals. He has lost many dear friends, and I'll be damned if he isn't satisfied until the job is finished. Nothing can stop us from winning this war, NOTHING except our willingness to give up.

God Bless America, and God Bless our Brave Warriors in harms way so we may sleep in peace at night.
