Very Interesting

A few things have occurred in the news lately that just make me feel like Artie Johnson from the "Laugh In" days. I can picture Johnson in his WWII German helmet, hiding behind a bush, doing a "quick take" into the camera and saying in his German accent, "Very interesting."

It was revealed today that the three men that were attacked by the tiger at the San Fransisco Zoo on Christmas Day were "high," and were also taunting the caged tiger.  You have to know, deep in his heart, the tiger mentally measured the distance and knew he could make the jump at any time. He probably knew it for years. These guys must have really pissed him off.

Tiger 3 ... Dumb-asses 0.

Very Interesting.

I saw a very funny bumper sticker today. It read "Monica Lewinsky's Ex-Boyfriends Wife For President." I wonder who they are really voting for? Very Interesting.

I have wondered how/if this war on terror will ever end. I stay up nights thinking about it sometimes. The more troops I personally get to know, the longer I stay up at night sometimes.

I was surprised to see that Osama bin Laden's third oldest son wants peace through peaceful negotiations and not through violence. The boy went through "Daddy's Terror Camp" in 2000, but claims it wasn't his "thing."

I have speculated that the Arab Nation needs a leader who can unite them, the way Mahatma Gandi united his people in the name of peace. I have brought this up to some Arab-American friends of mine and they believe that if an Arab rose to power in the name of peace he would be assassinated by al Qaeda.

But now, with the "Son of al Qaeda" crying for peace, and with the ear of the American press, would he stand a chance at success? I'd be willing to give him a chance. I would watch him like a hawk; make sure he has democracy and womens-rights in mind, and not some "pie in the sky dream" of him being King someday. But I wonder, could this be the beginning of the end of the war. Is this kid serious, does he have the guts and leadership to do good, that his father has to do evil. Very Interesting

I was watching "Close Encounters of the Third Kind - 25th Anniversary" the other night. The movie is a classic and very believable. Personally, it has always been the best argument for extraterrestrial life. However, it's a bit weird that now a days, when almost everyone on earth has some kind of video or digital recorder, no one talks about seeing UFO's like they used to. Very Interesting.

Having switched my life to eating healthier and exercising on a regular basis I have felt much better. I eat more natural foods ... but I just read that most people die of natural causes. Very Interesting.

When I was younger, people took acid to make the world look crazy. Now that the world is crazy, people take Prozac to make the world look normal. Very interesting.

      Dear Joe,
I find it ironic that I will ride my motorcycle 6,000 miles for the children of our special ops. Osama's son will ride in a horserace for "peace". He will not denounce his father's actions, which may have made my ride unnecessary.

      Amen Debbie,

It looks like the American press loves this kid, (that's nothing new) ... as you know, these Al Qaeda guys are very tricky (snakey might be a better word.)

I wonder if he's just to scared to denounce his father; or is he's a spoiled-chip off the old block, like Uday and Qusay.

God bless you Debbie, ... I hope I am home so I can ride up to Milwaukee and watch you ride this summer at Harley Davidson's 105th Birthday Party.

      Jon,

I am laughing so hard right now, thinking of you in that race with "baby-bin-Laden." I picture you dressed as a cowboy boy i.e. "Hildalgo," and as you ride up next to him, ... ooopsss, you "accidentally" kick him in the side with your spur! Yeeeee haw

I think as Americans, we are born with faith in people, thinking the best. It would be wonderful if he truly wanted to turn the tide and not be thought of in the same way as his father. Hopefully, this will turn out to be true and will prove that you can be responsible for your own thoughts and actions. Given that, however, I don't blame him for not publicly denouncing his father -- Lord knows what would happen to him.

On a sad note -- living in "Giants" territory - -what the heck happened in that game Sunday? I wanted Brett in the Super Bowl sooo bad -- now I have to listen to the Giants fans around here…..

One more note -- I CANNOT imagine how the mothers feel whose children go off to Iraq, etc. I just found out LAST Thursday that my son was moving to Hong Kong THIS Thursday to live. One week to absorb the fact that I have to say goodbye to him has been impossible. I'm devastated and he's NOT going off to battle. My hats off and prayers go out to each and every one of those families who send their children off not knowing whether or not they will return. May God be with them and their's and give them the strength they need to get through these tough times.

        Joanne,

        Great post.

First ... the leather jacket and dread-locks lead me to believe young-bin Laden has rebelled a bit, so that might be a good sign. The bad news is, we haven't heard a word from him since his statement of "peace" last week. It sure would be nice if some Arab leader would rise to power in favor of peace.

Second ... I like Brett also, but you have to admit, the Manning Brothers in back-to-back Super Bowl's is pretty exciting. I still think The "Brady Bunch" Patriots will march into history.

Third ... Yes, I completely agree with the heartache of saying goodbye to a loved one. My young cousin, Zachary Fulgenzi, US Army, touched down in Baghdad yesterday. I'll be writing volumes about this great kid soon. His dad, my cousin Vince, is both very proud and very worried. Zachary is a bomb defusing specialist.

        Have a great day!

          Thanks, Joe. Appreciate it.

I just hope he wasn't "persuaded" to keep a low profile. I'm going to hope for the best and, like everyone else, wait and see. (I would also keep a hawk's eye on him because, sometimes, we are TOO trusting and that can be our downfall.)

I AM happy that Ely is finally coming out of his brother's shadow and THAT is the ONLY reason I could be happy for them. Here in New Jersey (especially being in central Jersey) there is a HUGE rivalry between Eagles and Giants fans (as ashamed as I am to admit these days that I'm an Eagles fan -- I'm still not happy with Lorie for getting rid of Garcia and Trotter!!!). As for NE, I think Brady is a little "too full" of himself and now, as much as I hate to admit it, I have to root for the Giants!!! (Can't believe I wrote that.)

And your last paragraph is EXACTLY what I'm talking about...how do you come to grip with all of that -- ESPECIALLY a bomb-defusing specialist (nothing like "getting right in the middle of a situation" is there?). My thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family. Look forward to reading your reports.
