          Keith Matthew Maupin

I just learned that the body of American Hero, Keith "Matt" Maupin has been identified and is being escorted home to Ohio draped in an American flag.

Many of this blog's readers have gotten to know Matt's dad, Keith, over the past few years. We have all prayed that one day Matt would be rescued and released from an al Qaeda prison. Keith and I even talked about the day that Matt would come home; we dreamed together that we would all celebrate with 101st Rock Division coming to Ohio to perform a special concert. The Maupin Family never gave up hope. Now, the only good news is that Matt Maupin is finally coming home.

Keith, you are one of the kindest, sweetest men I have had the pleasure to know. I know that I would never have had the class or dignity that you have always shown through this almost four-year night mare. I know all of our readers send their prayers, love, tears and hopes that your family will finally have closure.

Keith, America thanks you and your wife Carolyn for bringing us the gift of your brave warrior.

Sweet warrior, I'll never forget you. Good soldiers never die ... your memory will never die.

I love you Keith ... we all love you.

Hard to find words but I know I join other readers in extending sympathy and love to the Maupin family. Matt's service and sacrifice is so dear to us-his memory will live on. I have appreciated how Keith Maupin has shared his heart here on the blog and hope he will continue to do so.
May God bring the healing, peace and comfort needed through our prayers.
      Thanks for sharing this tribute.

I wanted to express my heartfelt sorrows and my eternal gratitude to Keith and Carolyn. Matt is finally coming home.

Although I have never met Keith, I have exchange emails with him on one occasion. I have talked to my brother who is in the Marine Corps, and he sends his condolences as well. I will never forget Matt Maupin as long as I breathe the sweet air of freedom. Matt was captured on my birthday, and that will be in my memory forever. May God shed his love on you and your family and help you through this time. America is forever indebted to you and your family. God Bless
