Congratulations to President-elect Barack Obama. He fought a tough battle and won. It's now time for all Americans and Patriots to get behind our president-elect and support him in these difficult times. He needs our prayers and support and he needs to know our concerns.

God bless John McCain, an American hero who has fought for all of us his whole life.

Congratulations to Peter Roskam entering his second term as our U.S. Congressman from Illinois' 6th District.

Last night John McCain and Peter Roskam threw their support behind Barack Obama and McCain and Roskam supporters will hopefully do the same.

These are serious times and as Americans we have always survived by coming together as one nation under God.

May God continue to bless America.

Thank you for your most gracious and sincere promise of support to our new President Elect.

We must all remember - WE ARE ONE NATION UNDER GOD!

After being in Colorado Springs and hearing Michelle Obama speak, I believe she will carry out her commitment to military families. Somebody will finally LISTEN AND HEAR the trials and tribulations of the wives and husbands of their military spouses.

Now crucify me for restating this phrase however, let's spread the wealth and stop the rich from getting richer and the poor from getting poorer.

Hard work from the bottom up, not handed on silver platters! My eyes have been opened very wide and my ears have heard better than ever before this time around!

      God Bless America!

      Cheryl,

Well, your man won. Now he has his chance to make possitive changes in America. Let's hope he can make our already great country better and not worse.

As for your comment of "spreading wealth," Cheryl, I thought you were smarter than that ... it will never work.

In America, you have to get off your ass and work. That's how the rich get rich. Believe me, the rich are not going to change their lifestyle one bit ... they are gonna lay-off the poor. That's how business works, that's how and why America is so great. It's free entertprise, not free-loaders. Once we start paying people for not working and for being poor, America is over.

I know you, I respect you, but you have got this allllll backwards. And if it ever comes down to "taking from the rich and giving to the poor," big business will move out of this country (some all ready are) and then you'll have no jobs.

I have talked with many businesses and they are right in-line with what I'm saying. You don't reward prosperus, smart business people by taxing them. Smart business people will NOT change their lifestyle, they cut every way they can to maintain.

So the dream you have of punishing the rich for being smart, clever, and for going out; working hard to create profits is just that ... a dream. It will never happen.

Come back to the "force!" Good luck,

      Joe

Joe, I truly doubt "my man" will or can make things any worse than they already are.

I am smarter than you give me credit for. You seem to misinterpret what is meant by the phrase "spreading the wealth". Lazy is not what I am talking about however, obviously you are. Yes, there are lazy citizens that do not get off their asses and work. Spreading the wealth means giving opportunities not just to the elite but to the average kid growing up in poverty or a middle class family. Which brings me to the point, nobody ever said they would take from the rich and give to the poor.

I too know you and respect you however, I assure you I do not have it all backwards. I am praying I am not interpreting your statements the wrong way. As it almost makes me sick to my stomach when I read your paragraph that says "so the dream of punishing the rich for being smart, clever, and for going out; working hard to create profits is just that ... a dream.

Are you saying all poor and middle class people are not smart, not educated, don't know how to promote such as yourself, don't work hard for a living, don't want their children to have good educations, don't want a piece of the American dream? Joe, if that is what you believe, then I don't know you as well as I thought I did.

Let me ask this awful question, are you one of those who believe only ignorant, uneducated kids joins the military? Because I've heard that a hundred times, and it sickens me! You know my love for our country and for all forces of the military.

Please don't catagorize people. There are lazy people in every race, rich and poor, young and old.

I don't need luck, I still luv ya and just for the record ... I AM THE FORCE!

          Cheryl,

Snap out of it and climb off your soap box Ma'am.

You honestly don't see how the election of "your man" and his policies can't make anything worse???? Are you serious?

Look at the welcome he got from Wall Street today! Have you seen what Russia is up to today?

Understand, it's not about him personally, it's about his policies. When Obama raises capital gains taxes; investor's will take their profits now, and get out of the market. Have you seen the thousands of job lay-off announced today alone? In addition today, NYC Mayor Michael Bloomberg announced that NYC is cutting their police and fire department for next year. 3,000 jobs will be lost. This is the tip of the iceberg ... and it's gonna get worse.

As for your two insulting questions. 1) - I am NOT saying anything about poor or middle class people. (At this point I am gonna fit in right between them.) I am trying to explain what big business will do to the people Obama is going to "spread the wealth around" to. Don't read anything into what I'm saying. I am laying it out plain and simple. I have seen this a few times and raising taxes always backfires. Look what happened here in Cook Country. People are streaming to burbs to buy big-ticket items to save 3 1/2% to 4% on sales tax and sales are already down 12% ti=his year in Cook County.

          2) You're correct; you did ask me a very sick question.

Are you kidding me? How dare you question my loyalty and support to our Troops. How dare you?

I happen to know Troops who aren't well educated and I also know Troops who are highly educated. Two weeks ago I attended the graduation ceremony for an Army Engineer Class at Fort Leonard Wood, MO at the request of one of the graduates. I know Troops that have Doctorate's, Master's, Bachelor's and High School/GED degree's and I love and support every single one of them. Remember, I'm the one that has reached out constantly to your Army sons-in-law!

I am sitting here scratching my head and wondering what you are thinking with two of your daughter's married to active Soldiers. Obama and the Dem's are threatening to cut 25% of military funding.

In your closing lines you write; "Please don't categorize people." First my dear, I believe you got all caught up in your assumptions. I never categorized anyone. I used Obama's words and your words, not mine. Stop putting words in my mouth and stop assuming. I thought I knew you better than that. Shame on you Cheryl. You disappoint me. While you're up on your high horse, take a good look around, and take it in. Change is coming alright baby, and I hope I'm wrong, but I don't think you're gonna like it.

Love and Kisses, ... don't ever change, unless it's to come back to the Force,

          Joe

          Dear Miss Cheryl,

I am not going to attack you cuz I see you have a few loved ones currently serving America, but I want to express my disappointment in you.

As for our troops, I will meet Joe Cantafio for the first time tomorrow. A Patriot Guard Rider turned me on to Joe about a month ago.

Joe has volunteered to perform a few songs at the funeral-mass of Sgt Kevin Greico, KIA Afghanistan 10/23. I learned yesterday that Joe showed up at the home of this soldier this past week and performed at a night vigil to honor the soldier and his family. The more I have learned about this guy the more I can't wait to shake his hand. He performs at VA hospitals across America; performs at Change of Command ceremonies and he's loved by Army, Air Force, Navy and Marines around the world. When other entertainers are making thousands of dollars to perform for the troops, the guy went to Iraq for a month to entertain the troops for nothing more than his expenses. So as far as Joe's loyality to the troops, I believe you owe Mr. Cantafio an apology.

As for your love for Obama ... you want him, you've got him ... good luck there! I also agree with Joe on every single point and I can add about 100 more points.

Dear Hog Boss (is that your real name? LOL)

Thanks for writing. Cheryl is a dear friend who I think has sipped too much Obama-Kool-Aid (that's gonna cause another letter from her! LOL)

Cheryl is very cool. She came to a show this past summer to honor a Soldier who performed with our band with her daughter and hero son-in-law who I have written about on this blog.

Thanks for all the kind words.

Now, as for you .... are you a Patriot Guard Rider? Do you know me through Oscar? (I love that guy, what an awesome human being.) Please make sure you come up and shake hands after the funeral tomorrow. Thanks for all your kind words, but I am in awe of what people like you and Oscar do for the Gold Star Families. Trust me, you are a Godsend to these families. Thank you for your patriotism and for watching over these great Americans who have given us the gift of their loved ones.

            God bless you brother,

I will congratulate Mr. Obama even though I did not vote for him (I might have 4 years down the road, but not quite yet). I know his heart is in the right place, but I personally don't think his ideas of "spreading the wealth" is a good one.

Being one of the "lower" income Americans (single female who has been separated and totally on my own for over 6 years AND has been through my son's cancer chemo and radiation), you would think I would say "great - send that money on down". But, with the "miniscule" income I made (I chose the "paycheck of the heart" vs a bigger financial paycheck when there were two incomes coming in) and the trials and tribulations I had to go through, I never once looked for a handout. I worked a FULL-TIME job AND two part-time jobs. So, I worked days, nights and weekends without a breath to survive. I never thought twice about it and I would never expect a handout from those who have it. It's what I needed to do to survive and keep a roof over our head (I also never asked for any financial assistance from the hubby.) Ok, so shoot me, I'm stubbornly independent.

I had a friend who turned down work for me (when I was in a position to offer it) and turned me down because, if she showed even a small amount of income, she would lose her State aid. THAT'S what needs to be changed.

Encourage people on welfare to work and let the government supplement that income until they can survive on their own. THAT'S what drives me crazy. My friend chose to turn down the work because if she worked, she couldn't support her child. Do you see something wrong with this picture?

What scares me more is Biden's comment about the catastrophe which will take place within six months if Obama won -- he guarantees something will happen to "test his mettle" -- great endorsement from your running mate.

We must unite as a country. We have been dealt these cards and must play them.

So, let's not panic and see what unfolds. Hopefully, he will surprise us all. I truly hope he does.

      Thanks for listening.

Thanks for writing. What a great story. I know you sacrificed for your son, who I understand is just doing awesome in China. I have read some of his financial reports and the boy is great and knows his stuff. Great job mom!

I agree, and sometimes I get all lost in the fact that John McCain actually lost this election, but we must hope and pray to God, that He sends guidance to Obama to lead our great country.

        God bless you Joanne,

      Cheryl,

I do not know you but I have read your comments on here in the past and also have enjoyed the stories that Joe has shared about your son-in-law. I want to pass on my thanks and admiration for your son-in-law, we as Americans can never thank him enough.

I too am part of the military family, my younger brother has been in the United States Marine Corps for 15 years now. He is my hero and my best friend. We as military families share the same heartaches in these times of war, and together we stand as one big family united for the better good of the world. Thank you again.

With that being said, I must stand with Joe here. I think that your comment about his "beliefs" on how he categorizes the American Soldier was a little out of line. I have been with this man on countless fund raisers, freedom celebrations, and visits to our VA Hospitals, and I can tell you that no one I know in the civilian world has dedicated more time, sweat, and tears to our American Soldiers that Joe Cantafio, Jon Brant, and Joes 101st Rock Division. And believe me, I know a lot of people. That Cheryl, was a kick in the balls if I ever seen one.

Milwaukee residents just yesterday, voted themselves a mandatory 9 paid sick days a year that companies based in the city of Milwaukee will have to give to their employees. A company with 20 employees making $15/hour comes to almost $22,000/year in sick pay. How will that help create jobs? What the people of Milwaukee failed to realize is that once employers are forced to do this, other areas and benefits will need to be cut. Employees vacations will be eliminated, employer contributions to 401K plans will be cut, and worst of all, job cuts. So the people of Milwaukee have essentially cut their own throats believing that they were going to get something for free. You see, small business has to bring in revenue to keep the doors open. What people fail to realize is that small business takes on huge risks just to get their feet off the ground. Companies have huge loans and purchases they need to make in order to produce the product that they sell, most employees just need the gas to get there. With risk comes reward, and punishing those who risk their livelihoods is so fundamentally stupid, that it blows my mind. Obama will do this on a much larger level when he gets in office. It will not create jobs, but eliminate them. Taxing those who create jobs, in effect will not create more jobs. I can't believe that people actually think that works. Then again, Liberals always think throwing more money into problems, will fix problems, and the more one succeeds in this country, the more they should be penalized.

Your taxes will go up, middle class is where the largest tax base is. Even though to most of us it's not wealth, get ready to share it. Fannie May & Freddie Mac shared the wealth, and thousands couldn't afford to pay it back, we know how that ended.

I didn't post your last comment because you did get a bit personal. LOL We'll have none of that talk on this blog, unless it's coming from me.

So yes, shame on me, and yes, you did say you were for Obama, and that you think the country is better off with him. That's your opinion. My opinion is we are not, so let's wait and see, but as Ryan and I have pointed out, and as America is starting to react to his election, it sure doesn't look good. Maybe that's what Joe Biden was talking about; a serious crisis within 6-months.

        Now play nice.

        Cheryl,

One last thing ... I did re-read your comments to Joe. You asked him questions. You questioned his stance on the troops education and how he "categorized" the troops, and in a way you questioned his patriotism. If that's not the way you intended your email to be read, you should have made yourself perfectly clear. But your questions were too open and attacking.

I can understand why Joe had to answer in detail.

It's not like you called him on the phone or send him a private email, you questioned his patriotism on a public forum. You made Joe defend himself when he shouldn't have had too if what you say is true, that you are friend of his.

Then you have to take a last shot at him, saying "Shame on you," and that's just wrong.

My suggestion is you go and pick a fight with someone on the other side and leave this patriot alone. Shame on you Cheryl.

Hog Boss, if you read my very first comment you would see I did not question Joe's choice, nor was there any animosity about his choice. I made my choice and he decided on a public forum to attack my choice. Not cool! We are good friends and I know Joe didn't like my choice and this all made for great reading.

AGAIN, if you read my comments/questions correctly you would know I didn't pick a fight with anyone. The fight was picked with me. And that's okay ... your comments alone about go pick a fight with someone on the other side are derogatory.

I thought all adults knew it is okay to AGREE TO DISAGREE!

Just for the record, I have the utmost respect for all that Joe, Jon and the others give of themselves.

Ryan, thanks for your response. We're all in this together.
