The Chicago Auto Show & The ArmyThis entry was posted on February 17, 2009 5:37 PM and is filed under the troops. I have been asked to perform at the Chicago Auto Show this Friday, Saturday and Sunday, February 20 - 22 at Chicago's McCormick Place on the lakefront. What make this exciting for me is the fact that I'll be working in the U.S. Army's exhibit. The Chicago Auto Show is the biggest; most prestigious auto show in America. I can remember when I was a young member of Jade 50's and we were asked to perform at the Auto Show; it was like getting a gig on the Tonight Show. Well, I'll be honest, when I got a call from Army Public Affairs, I had the same feeling I had over 25-years ago. I will be performing "solo" ... just my guitar and me; but I am looking forward to working with the Army on this project; bringing awareness to all of our great Soldiers and the incredible things they do for us all ... and I am excited to see the exhibits as well. My song list will consist of classics's like Pinball Wizard (The Who), With or Without You (U2) some CCR and The Beatles. I was emailed a request for some Kansas and James Taylor. Of course I'll perform God Bless The USA (Lee Greenwood) An American Soldier (Toby Keith) and an original song, Brave Warrior. Please stop by and make sure you say hello. Friday, February 20 - 3-shows at 1:00PM ... 3:00PM ... 5:00PM Saturday, February 21 - 2- shows at 1:00 PM and at 3:00 PM Sunday, February 22 - 3 - show from noon until close. I will be alternating shows with the great Army Band from Fort Leonard Wood. See ya at the Auto Show ... Hooah! |
