On Saturday, May 30 at 1:00 PM, my band and I will be performing before the opening of the Chicago Machine Professional Lacrosse Teams season at historic Soldier Field in Chicago.

We were contacted by The Chicago Machine head-office and recommended for this performance by Lt.Col. Scott Bleichwehl, Midwest Office of Army Public Affairs, who is involved with this home opener.

Will there be 65,000 people at this game? Well, we are all hoping, but probably not; more like 10,000 - 20,000 people.

Why would a professional lacrosse team hire a rock band that slants proudly towards supporting our Troops be help open their season? It's very simple; the Chicago Machine and their owners are HUGE Troop supporters ... in fact, to begin this game/match our National Anthem is being sung by Illinois Soldiers. No, they won't be on field, they will be on the huge Jumbotron; live from Afghanistan!!!!

Soldier Field has long been a place to honor Troops. The field was named as a memorial to all Troops using the universal name "Soldier" to encompass all military branches. During WWII, three of the surviving "flag raisers" from the famous "Marine flag raising on Iwo Jima" came to Soldier Field and reenacted the flag raising to help sell bonds to support our war effort.

The Chicago Bears honor our Troops during one home game every year, and now the Chicago Machine are doing the same.

We only have 75 minutes to perform and I decided we are gonna rock! We are gonna do all "cover tunes." We do our originals during the rest of our shows this year, but with only 75 minutes, we decided to give the crowd something they all know, and have some fun.

Our set list will be as follows:

Baba O'Reily - The Who
American Girl - Tom Petty
Born to Run - Springsteen
You Shook me all Night Long - AC~DC
With or Without You - U2
Streets Have No Name - U2
Carry On my Wayward Son - Kansas
Bohemian Rhapsody - Queen
Separate Ways - Journey
Foreplay/Longtime - Boston
Abbey Road Medley - The Beatles
Band on the Run - McCartney & Wings
Won't Get Fooled Again - The Who
Star Spangled Banner

For tickets, visit
www.ChicagoMachine.com ... phone in your order and mention my name, "Joe Cantafio" or "The 101st Rock Division" and save $5.00 PER TICKET ... if you haven't seen a lacrosse game/match, and you love football and hockey ... you're gonna love this sport. Click on to their website and get a feel of what lacrosse is all about!!!!!

Join us, bring the whole family, listen to some great music, support our Troops, watch your home team's first professional lacrosse game, plus meet and get a photo taken with Miss Illinois, Katie Lorenz and during our performance, artist-Elliott From will be painting three works of art as we perform. Does it get any better than that??????
